Behind the Scenes

I'm Kay, the owner of Valhalla Media and Marketing LLC. 

I was born March 1997 in a little town in California. I was adopted at an early age by parents old enough to come for grandparents day at school, so it is safe to say I was raised a little different. My dedication and passions started at a young age and carry through in all aspects of my business. I don't remember the exact age I picked up a camera, but I do remember getting scolded for filling up the memory or using all the film in the disposables shortly after they were purchased. Life was often harder for me than most and constant battles with life and circumstances outside the home lead me to a very unique perspective of the world around me. My first and last photography class was in high school. This graphic design experience mixed with a hobby like interest in photography sparked a passion for creativity and expression in me that has lead me to Valhalla.

I am a late diagnosed Autistic Adult with Autism and a wide range of chronic pain and illness symptoms that still await diagnosis. Owning a photography business has been a lifelong dream simply because it is a job I can do given how often I am ill or in pain. I love going to local shows when my energy is high, fully immersing myself in the music, artistry and capture of some awesome people. I consider myself "alternative," meaning I wear a ton of black, love oversized shirts and get really stoked about pins and stickers. Your business is unique to you, and I find a ton of dopamine in learning your history and future goals to share with your audience. I used to be a long haul truck driver, so travel is no concern!
